Chef and restaurateur Jessi Singh is continuing his Melbourne expansion, but this time, it’s in a big way.

Singh’s latest venture, Mr Brownie, is a multi-level venue on Clarendon Street that covers multiple concepts.

A Punjabi-style deli on the ground floor will sell British-Indian pub food and the bottle shop/ 70-seat footpath beer garden offers a 500-strong beer list plus local and international wines.

There’s also a dining room, which will serve up Indian-British pub fare, and a rooftop garden with 16 beers on tap and a range of bespoke cocktails. Patrons will be able to grab a drink, buy food from the ground floor or enjoy all-day brunch on the weekend.

The basement cocktail lounge Boom Boom Room is one of the main attractions.

The bar is hidden behind a wall of beer cans and is decked out in red velvet furniture.

Described as a “curry pub”, the venue will open its doors on 2 July and operate seven days a week.

“There’s a real sense of community in South Melbourne that we can’t wait to be a part of. If you’re picking up takeaways, popping in for a drink or staying for a dance, Mr Brownie welcomes everyone,” says Singh.
