StreetSmart, the organisation that aims to tackle homelessness around Australia, is joining up with hospitality industry leaders to kick off its 15th and biggest Christmas campaign, DineSmart.

This year sees new sponsors and partners on board as well as new restaurants and a revamped fundraising model, CEO Adam Robinson, is hoping to raise at least $250,000 for homelessness projects during the campaign which is running from 24 November to 24 December.

The changes to the fundraising for see year have seen the DineSmart move from a $2 per table donation to $1 per person, as well as shortening the campaign from six to four weeks. Uber Eats is also now on-board and will donate $10 for each new customer who signs up using the DINESMART17 promo code and Open Table who will donate $1 for every table booked at participating restaurants through their platform.

“This will be our 15th DineSmart and $2 doesn’t go as far as when we held the first DineSmart. With the increased demand for support and critical funding shortages in the homelessness sector, we are confident that supporters will share the Christmas spirit and chip in a little more to help some of our most vulnerable,” says Robinson.

This year, DineSmart welcomes on board new restaurants such as BKK, Fitzroy Town Hall Hotel, Hotel Jesus, Marion, Meat Maiden, Merchant Osteria Veneta, San Telmo and Tipo OO, who join long-time supporters such as Café Sydney, Chin Chin, Ezard, , Longrain, Punch Lane, Ladro, Top Paddock Stalactites and so many more.

Robinson says that 100 percent of all donations raised through restaurant partners go to fund grassroots homeless services in the neighbourhood, suburb or region where the funds are raised, with full details available on the StreetSmart website.
