The group behind Hinchcliff House, House Made Hospitality, is set to launch its second venue of the year, This Way Canteen, in Sydney’s CBD this winter.

Located adjacent the Museum of Sydney, the new venture will provide a New York deli-style offering.

“The menu items will be in line with what you’d expect from a New York deli without going too heavy on the American influence,” says Director Scott Brown.

“Just a collection of good sandwiches and salads that are worth leaving the office for, some brekky items to kick-start the day plus a handful of wines and beers for those who want to sneak out for a cheeky arvo tipple.”

The group’s Executive Chef Stephen Seckold has teamed up with Head of Viennoiserie & Retail Jonny Pisanelli to curate the canteen menu.

Highlights will include a modern Australian take on breakfast items, sandwiches and salads along with coffee, juices and smoothies.

The canteen will also be serving up pastries from it’s nearby sister venue Bar Mammoni.

The space is expected to seat 100 guests with north-facing outdoor tables fit for a mid-day lunch break.

This Way Canteen will be the most recent addition to the group’s portfolio which currently includes the recently launched Bar Mammoni in Quay Quarter as well as Apollonia, Grana and Lana in Hinchcliff House.

The venue will operate from 7am until 4pm Monday to Friday and 8am until 4pm on weekends.
