Opening tomorrow in the iconic Bondi Pavilion, Promenade Bondi Beach is the new restaurant, beachside terrace bar and kiosk from the team.
The menu is a fresh and local beachside offering crafted by House Made Hospitality Culinary Director Stephen Seckold and incoming Executive Chef Chris Benedet (Cirrus, Yellow, Monopole) who will join the team in mid-March.
The venue’s wood-fire oven sees a range of grilled local and ethically-caught seafood across the menu, alongside premium cuts of meats and seasonal vegetables.
Some of the highlights include John Dory with charred greens; blackened swordfish cutlet with eggplant pickle; smoked wagyu tartare with crème fraiche and Agrodolce porkchop with charred radicchio.
The venue hosts the main dining room, plus outdoor terrace The Front Yard (140-person capacity), which is on a walk-in only basis offering a snack-style menu taking highlights from the restaurant menu.
Other spaces include the semi-private room The Dunes (capacity up to 20 people), and The Grotto (12-person capacity).
For drinks, House Made Hospitality Beverage Director Jason Williams has crafted a summery cocktail list including the likes of a Sunnyboy Spritz (Aperol with strawberry and ginger) and The Buckler (currant tequila and grapefruit).
Bondi Brewing Co’s beers and canned seltzers are on pour, along with a wine list showcasing boutique producers from across Australia, in particular from coastal regions.
“The venue needed to be light and airy to complement the relaxed daytime vibes of the beach, but still cosy enough for an evening experience,” says House Made Hospitality Director Scott Brown.
“The other primary focus for us was ensuring Promenade Bondi Beach appealed to locals. We want it to be somewhere locals are proud of, they feel comfortable eating at regularly and want to show off to visiting friends and family.”
The coastal-influenced interiors are the work of The Stella Collective (Hazel and Blacksmith designers) and boasts a natural palette of blues and browns reflecting the venue’s surrounds.
