Sydney concept Hendriks Cognac & Wine has launched a second location in the Southern Highlands.
Owners James Knight and Jakob Overduin saw a ripe opportunity to launch a Hendriks-type venue in the area.
“I’ve lived in the Southern Highlands for a number of years and could see there was a gap in the market for a bar that focused on wines, cognacs and great cocktails,” says Overduin.
“We want locals to feel at home here, so they can drop in once or twice a week for a drink with mates, and for it to stand-up as a venue that appeals to those who are travelling from Sydney, Canberra or further afield.”
The team have recruited former Eschalot chef Richard Kemp to consult on the menu, which offers everything from wood-fired pizzas to giant jaffles, seafood and a weekend spit roast.
More than 30 Cognacs are part of the beverage list alongside 150 bottles of wine and cocktails.
The venue covers 400sqm across two floors, with space for guests to enjoy the weather on a front balcony and back deck.
Hendriks Southern Highlands is open everyday except Tuesday and Wednesday.
