The Gold Coast’s Brooklyn Depot is launching its second venue in Surry Hills, Sydney at the end of April.

Inspired by old Brooklyn street specialties, the venue’s menu includes handcrafted burgers, hot dogs, salads and desserts, along with a wide range of beers and cocktails.

Burger options range from the Brooklyn classic to the fuhgeddaboudit, which comes with syringe of hot sauce, while the hot dog selection includes a philly dawg with pork weiner and steak strips, as well as bubba gump po’boy with crumbed prawns and remoulade. Beyond burgers and dogs, there are American staples like wings and slaw, and the depot crib salad for a bunless burger option.

Fries come plain or “Brooklynised” with bacon, onion rings, cheese sauce and frickles (battered and fried pickles).

The dessert menu includes caramel pecan brownies and thick handspun milkshakes, as well as alcoholic shakes like the Gringo, which is made with ice cream, dulche de leche, salted caramel sauce, brownie bits and Vortik Fusion caramel vodka.

“We set out to create a unique American dining experience with a really great bar and atmosphere to match. We’re all about high quality, high value products with great service. We’ve had an overwhelming response at Surfers Paradise in such a short space of time, and we hope to replicate this with our new Sydney venue,” said Brooklyn Depot co-founder Michael Rose.
