Restaurant guide, Gault&Millau, is bringing its Mise en Place trade event to Australia, where industry professionals will have access to the latest products and services, as well as a range of expert-hosted masterclasses.

Launching in Sydney on 25 August at The Pavilion and at Melbourne’s Siglo, The European, on 1 September, Mise en Place is an international initiative by Gault&Millau, bringing chefs, industry professionals and selected vendors together in a relaxed atmosphere.

As well as giving attendees access to the latest products and services in the sector, Mise en Place will provide them with an opportunity to discuss  culinary and business trends, as well as other matters relevant to the industry.

There will also be a series of masterclasses, each conducted by industry experts. These include Chocolate, hosted by Dominique Van Droogenbroeck in association with Belcolade; Champagne and Caviar (Pernod Ricard and Luxe Caviar); and Cheese, hosted by Will Studd in association with Calendar Cheese (Melbourne) and Australia on a Plate (Sydney).

Mise en Place will also host the announcement of the Gault&Millau Award finalists with categories including Chef of the Year, Restaurant of the Year, New Restaurant of the Year, Sommelier of the Year and Professional of the Year, as well as the American Express 2016 ‘Potentialist’ Award.

The five Sydney and five Melbourne finalists for each award will be announced at their respective events, with the final winners to be announced at the launch of the 2016 Gault&Millau Restaurant Guide on 9 November 2015.
