GABS Beer, Cider & Food Fest will head to Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland this year, showcasing more than 500 craft beers and ciders from around Australia and New Zealand.

The 2018 edition will see brewers experimenting with unusual ingredients such as toasted marshmallows, rhubarb, Skittles, ice cream, dates, yuzu, crickets and even snails.

Event director Craig Williams says the festival is the perfect event for brewers and beer-lovers to try something new.

“For us, GABS is about sharing our love of craft beer and cider with as many people as possible through an unforgettable experience,” he says.

“For the brewers, it’s a chance to showcase the quality, creativity and diversity of styles inherent to craft beer and cider.”

Festival-goers will have the opportunity to meet the brewers at the Dan Murphy’s Marketplace and take part in food, beer and cider pairings at the Ariston Food & Drink Experience.

There will also be a line up of masterclasses and panel discussions as well as guided tastings at the My Dan Murphy’s Discovery Deck.

Some of the city’s best street food vendors will be dishing out festival fare, including Bluebonnet BBQ, Biggie Smalls and 8Bit Burgers in Melbourne and Happy As Larry Pizza, Chur Burger and Dirty Bird in Sydney.

GABS will take place in Melbourne on 18-20 May, in Sydney on 2 June and in Auckland on 30 June.
