Camorra is the final speaker on the ‘How and Why You Should Diversify Your Offering Panel’ and will join Shannon Martinez (Smith & Daughters), Simon Blacher (Commune Group) and Peter Gunn (IDES) at the 30 July conference to be held at the Park Hyatt Hotel.
The MoVida group has a number of venues under its umbrella including MoVida (Sydney and Melbourne), Paco’s Tacos, Next Door, Aqui and Bar Tini.
Camorra opened the first Movida in Melbourne’s CBD in 2002 to critical acclaim. After outgrowing the original space, the venue moved to Hosier Lane in 2004 where it went on to receive a number of awards including Dish of the Year.
In 2008, the chef opened MoVida Next Door and went on to launch Aqui in 2009 – the same year Camorra was named Chef of the Year.
Paco’s Taco’s opened on the terrace outside Aqui in 2012, with an additional location opening in 2015. Late-night venue Bar Tini is the latest offering from the group, which was established in 2017.
Along with the title of one of Australia’s top chefs, Camorra has written a number of award-winning cookbooks and is an icon in the culinary scene.
