Lover, a new bar and restaurant by former Cutler & Co head chef Paul Turner and Will Newton (Saigon Sally), has opened its doors in Windsor, Melbourne.
Head chef Turner has devised a modern Australian menu featuring tapas-style share plates and a selection of substantial mains.
Dishes include pan-fried gnocchi with zucchini and fresh basil; kingfish crudo with cucumber, yuzu and charred avocado; and steak tartare with tarragon, egg yolk and radish.
The venue offers the complete menu from 5pm until 1am, Wednesday through to Sunday.
“We wanted to do something a little different and stand out, so we created an approachable bar that serves great food and is open late,” says Newton.
“You can have a drink or sit down to feast without being rushed through your dining experience.”
The wine list consists of local and international wines by the glass or bottle, while the extensive cocktail menu includes a selection of apéritifs and a dedicated Negroni section.
