Foodservice workers across Australia including baristas, waiters, chefs and bartenders are being encouraged to showcase their creativity, moustache growing skills and support of men’s health research as part of the Movember Hospitality Challenge.
The Movember Hospitality Challenge is one of 12 industry challenges nationwide. Last year the hospitality sector managed to raise over $100,000 as a result of the efforts of 590 participants.
Cafes, restaurants, bars and clubs are encouraged to get involved by with prizes on offer for the highest fundraising team.
“The Mo is a great conversation started and is a fun and positive way companies can engage staff across the business,” says Movember Foundation’s business engagement manager Charlene Brennan.
“A little healthy Mo growing competition certainly has a positive impact on morale, bringing employees together and building a sense of camaraderie for the month”.
Now in its 13th year, Movember encourages “Mo Bros and Mo Sistas” around the world to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health.
