US burger chain Five Guys is set to open the doors to its first Melbourne outlet in South Bank on 8 August.

It marks the third Australian store for the brand, which is spearheaded by master franchisee Seagrass Boutique Hospitality Group.

The 79-seater venue will be located along Southbank’s promenade opposite the Queensbridge Square.

“It has been a fun journey building the store and growing additional members of the Five Guys family,” says Robby Andronikos, brand manager of Five Guys Australia.

“We have been searching many years to find our first Victorian site and know the location of our first store is fantastic in the bustling Southbank region.”

The brand is famous for its customisable burgers that allow diners to choose from 15 free toppings.

Burger options include the bacon cheeseburger with relish pickles, tomatoes, grilled jalapeños and hot sauce and a regular cheeseburger with a combo of pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, mushrooms, grilled onion, ketchup and mustard.

Besides burgers the menu also covers sandwiches, hot dogs, fries and milkshakes all prepared from scratch.

The venue is able to cater to a range of dietary requirements with its veggie sandwich and grilled cheese sandwiches along with vegan and gluten fries.

All milkshakes use the same vanilla base and can be enjoyed with mix-ins such as strawberry, banana, salted caramel, bacon and more.

Melbourne’s Southbank store is open from 11am until 10pm.
