House Made Hospitality’s latest venue Martinez is opening its first instalment today in Sydney’s Quay Quarter Tower.

Martinez Terrace Bar is the first part of the venue to open its doors, with the restaurant and kiosk set to follow next week on 12 October.

The culinary offering is being spearheaded by Executive Chef Alex Wong (Lana) and Head Chef Andrea Sonnante (ex-Sagra).

The duo are looking to the south of France for the menu, with hints of Mediterranean influences to evoke that European summer feeling here in Sydney.

Some of the dishes on the list include starters such as sesame seed fougasse with whipped roe and bottarga, plus Ortiz anchovies with seaweed butter.

Heading larger, diners can expect fried calamari, saffron tagliatelle, grilled swordfish, and steak frites.

On the drinks front it’s all about light, approachable tipples to pair with the Mediterranean-style food offering.

There will be a collection of Australian and Provenance roses, craft beers, signature cocktails on tap and made-to-order, and even a magnum section for the wines.

“We want Martinez to capture the relaxed style of drinking and dining that is synonymous with holidays on the Mediterranean coast, and for the Terrace Bar to give you memories of drinking the afternoon away in a seaside spot,” says House Made Hospitality Director Scott Brown.

“Martinez Terrace has something for everyone, whether you’re joining us for after-work drinks and snacks, or a group looking for a spectacular spot for a leisurely al fresco Saturday lunch.”

Martinez Terrace Bar is open from today at Quay Quarter Tower, 50 Bridge Street, Sydney.
