Double Bay’s Royal Oak Pub has unveiled its new look after undergoing an extensive renovation including the addition of a new rooftop bar, garden bar and menu.
Owned by the Malouf brothers; Jamie, Justin and Ed, the new heart of the iconic pub lies upstairs in Phil’s Rooftop Bar, which is dedicated to the trio’s late brother, Phil Malouf.
The space boasts designer wood and copper finishes, and will feature live entertainment including a regular DJ on Sunday afternoons.
“Phil’s Rooftop is a very exciting and special addition to the Oak,” says Jamie Malouf.
“Locals who have been coming to the Oak every week for years are awe-struck at its distinctive style. It feels like an entirely new bar housed within an old favourite and this combination means we’ve already been inundated with requests for functions from corporate Christmas parties to birthdays.”
Located at the rear of the pub, the new look garden bar has been designed by acclaimed hospitality design firm Humphrey & Edwards, and features an atrium style glass roof and abundant greenery.
In terms of the new menu, diners can expect to see premium produce including Tasmania’s premium Cape Grim steak, fresh market fish and Sonoma burger buns. Share plates are also a big focus with the likes of crispy chorizo with cider glaze and orange & lime marmalade; and the pork, sage & apple meat balls with tomato sugo and manchego.
Seasonally driven rotating specials will also be on offer.
