After two years on Waterloo’s Danks Street, Devon on Danks will close its doors on 12 September, before launching a new venue at Barangaroo in late October.
“We decided to go to Barangaroo to be a little different,” said owner Derek Puah. “It’s where the big players are going with some great restaurants, and we felt like we are ready to take that next step.”
The new caf at Barangaroo will include Devon’s popular brunch dishes, prepared by executive chef and owner Zacharay Tan, and head chef Morris Baco. The pair has developed a new range of Japanese katsu-style sandwiches with flavours including Korean fried chicken; eggplant parmigiana; and thick-cut bacon and egg.
At night, diners will be offered Asian-inspired tapas with a range of beer, wine and cocktails.
Fellow foodservice venues taking up residence in Barangaroo include Banksii (a vermouth bar by the Bar H team), Turkish restaurant Anason, a sustainable seafood diner by The Bentley team and Belle's Hot Chicken.
