Los Angeles-based chef Curtis Stone has launched a new range of picnic boxes for Victorians.

Part of Curtis Stone Australia events, there are a number of themed boxes available including barbecue, spring racing, Christmas, New Year’s Eve and more.

The boxes are priced at $75 per head for three courses and showcase Victorian produce including Tarago River triple cream brie, Buxton trout and local olives.

Mains cover miso-roasted kingfish with wild greens and sauce vierge; barbequed free-range chicken, rack of spring lamb with salsa verde and pastrami-spiced beef short rib with pickled onions.

A range of salads and antipasto are also available plus classic desserts such as cannoli, chocolate cremeux and citron tart.

Along with the launch of the boxes in Australia, Stone has also kicked off a four-month residency at The Grove in Los Angeles.

Dubbed Picnic Society by Gwen, the concept covers a full-service restaurant alongside a market offering a selection of spreads, cheeses, charcuterie and takeaway dishes plus pre-made baskets and all the essentials needed for a picnic.

“The world has changed in recent months, and so has the way that we enjoy food and come together,” says Stone.

“With good food and the right company, you can really make anywhere in the world your restaurant, and I look forward to elevating this experience for the Los Angeles community.”
