A national survey from Raising the Bar has found consumer confidence is on the up.

Taken in January 2021, the research found 82 per cent of Australians feel comfortable returning to their local pub, club or bar compared to August 2020, which saw just 58 per cent of consumers feeling at ease.

67 per cent of Australians said they think about COVID-19 while at a pub and 34 per cent said they would leave a venue or ask staff for sanitiser if they did not see any COVID Safe materials on-site.

However, the effects of the virus are still having a heavy impact on venues, with only one in three consumers visiting the pub as frequently as they did before the pandemic.

More than 500 Australians over the age of 18 participated in the survey.

Venues are still able to apply for free support packages from Raising the Bar, which provides supplies such as hand sanitiser, gloves, masks, floor stickers and digital thermometers.
