Award-winning bartender Charlie Ainsbury will step down from his role as co-owner of Sydney venue This Must Be The Place (TMBTP) on 13 February.
He will bid farewell to the cocktail bar, which he opened with business partner Luke Ashton in 2015, to pursue consultancy work and other projects.
With 14 years’ experience, Ainsbury has worked in top cocktail bars across the world including Bayswater Brasserie, Eau de Vie and Bulletin Place in Sydney and The Diamond in Vancouver.
He has represented Australia twice at the Diageo World Class competition and is also the National Spirits Ambassador at Dan Murphy’s.
Ainsbury says his time at TMBTP has been exciting and rewarding.
“I’m immensely proud of what we as a team have achieved in the three years we’ve been in operation and as sad as I am to leave our team and all of the great regulars that we’ve made, I’m excited for what’s next,” he says.
