New Shanghai will open a new site in mid-October, forming part of Chadstone’s $660 million redevelopment.
New Shanghai Chadstone will be the largest in the group’s portfolio, with the 200-seat restaurant housing an indoor bar as well as a private dining room.
Executive chef Wein Qiang Huang will lead the kitchen with a menu that includes signature items such as pan fried pork buns, Xiao Long Bao, prawn wontons tossed in chilli oil, peanut butter and sesame sauce, and a range of dumplings alongside traditional Shanghaiese dishes.
Designed by Giant, the restaurant will pays homage to traditional Shanghainese culture, but with a contemporary feel.
New Shanghai has 11 restaurants located in Shanghai, Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney and Emporium Melbourne.
