Casual eatery Bonnie’s has opened inside the Crossways Hotel in Sydney’s Strathfield South.

The opening comes after extensive renovations of the 1930-built building located on the corner of Liverpool and Homebush roads.

Bonnie’s is the work of The Laundy Hotel Group who are also behind Sydney establishments Watson’s Bay Boutique Hotel, Wolly Bay Hotel, and Woolwich Pier Hotel.

Group Executive Chef Jamie Gannon and Group Head Chef Tanoy Biswas have designed a menu of pub classics and Italian-inspired dishes for Bonnie’s.

Highlights include Sicilian-style rigatoni alla norma with herby tomato sauce, eggplant, and salted ricotta; Milanese-style crumbed pork schnitzel; Bolognese arancini with house napolitana sauce; and eggplant lasagne with salted ricotta.

The venue’s name is a nod to the group’s late Veronica Laundy who was affectionately known as Bonnie.

“Crossways has been a great pub in our family’s history with all the Laundy children having worked there at some stage of their journey, so it seemed very fitting to name our new venture after nana, who was a backbone in the creation and success of our family business,” says The Laundy Hotel Group’s Senior Executive Danielle Richardson.

Bonnie’s is also offering a range of combos from $30, where guests can choose from dishes such as chicken schnitzel or crumbed pork with a choice of pasta.

Bonnie’s is now open at Crossways Hotel, 482 Liverpool Road, Strathfield South, New South Wales.
