Merivale has released a statement confirming Bistrode CBD will close on 30 September following the tragic death of executive chef Jeremy Strode.
“Bistrode has, and always will be, Jeremy and Jane’s restaurant – it was the product of their exceptional talent, passion and partnership,” says Merivale CEO Justin Hemmes. “I will forever be grateful for what they contributed to Merivale. We miss him every day.”
Merivale will soon host a fundraising event for the Strode family, with a number of Australian chefs coming together to put on a dinner.
The venue will continue to operate as an events space until the end of the year and plans for level one Hotel CBD will be announced in due course.
