The team behind Bistro Rex has opened Enoteca Ponti Italian wine bar and restaurant in Sydney’s Potts Point.
Replacing the former Monopole site on Macleay Street, the 65-seat Italian venue is serving up classic Roman classics with a modern twist.
Head Chef Aldo Farroni is leading the kitchen after time at Shell House Sydney.
“My food, my vision for Enoteca Ponti, is to bring the Italian cuisine of my heritage and evolve it to suit a modern, global context.” says Farroni.
“… I want Enoteca Ponti to mirror the authentic Italian dining experience – sharing great food and wine at the table with friends.”
Farroni has curated a seasonal menu featuring snacks such as house-made focaccia, charcuterie and cheese.
Dishes include lasagne spring rolls with fermented chilli oil, 600g Westholme T-bone, salt-baked whole John Dory and house-made pasta.
The food can be paired up with an Italian-centric wine selection as well as classic cocktails.
Enoteca Ponti is open from Wednesday to Sunday, 5pm until late.
