Bar Saracen has opened on Punch Lane in Melbourne, dishing up Middle Eastern cuisine.
The venue is from Joseph Abboud (owner of Rumi and Moor’s Head) and front-of-house pro Ari Vlassopoulos.
Abboud and Vlassopoulos recruited Tom Sarafian to head the kitchen, who has been working at Rumi for the past three years.
The menu includes a range of mezze, barbecue and larger dishes and sweets, with a tasting menu launching in the coming months.
The 50-seat space features banquettes, a private table, eight-seat and plenty of window seating for people watching.
The wine list features Australian and imported wines from Spain, Southern Italy, Greece, Turkey and Lebanon.
Bar Saracen will open Tuesday to Friday for lunch and dinner, and Saturday for dinner only.
