Sichuan Bang Bang Paddington opened Bang Bang Bar on 17 August 2017.

The bar menu will feature Sichuan bites and a selection of 10 pizzas — five bianche and five rosse —  paying homage to Italian restaurant Pizzeria Violetta, which previously inhabited the space.

Spices and oils carry the tastes of Shanghai, Chongqing, Guangdong, Beijing and Canton whilst the DOC woodfire oven creates authentic Neapolitan pizza. Cocktails include a sage-infused apricot fizz and the evening thyme with dark rum, thyme and ginger beer.

Heading up the new venture is David Wang the group general manager for Sichuan Bang Bang and Pizzeria Violetta in Brisbane, who worked alongside owner Renata Roberts to developed the bar’s concept.

“Our vision for Bang Bang Bar was to create a refined cocktail bar in a sleek and modern space, providing Brisbane locals with a new go-to venue for an experience they will not find anywhere else,” says Wang. “The menus have been carefully crafted to offer patrons a selection of cocktails, wines and tasteful bar snacks from two continents to create truly unforgettable experiences.”

The new interiors, which feature red velvets and gold prints,  were designed by local Brisbane company TD Creative. Its Founder and Chief Interior Designer Tara Dennis

“We wanted to elevate the space from a pleasant suburban watering hole to a highly sought-after bar experience with attitude and intrigue,” says Tara Dennis, founder and chief interior designer of TD Creative.
