Australian Venue Co (AVC) has confirmed its expansion into Tasmania with the acquisition of a Hobart pub.
The Telegraph Hotel has officially joined AVC’s portfolio and is now closed to the public while it undergoes an extensive renovation.
Built in 1958, the revamp will see the second floor converted into a dining space, with the downstairs floor remaining as a public bar.
A new menu will round out the refresh and debut with the pub’s reopening.
“The Telegraph Hotel is the first AVC investment in the Tasmanian market and we are excited to bring an iconic Hobart venue into the fold,” says Paul Waterson, AVC CEO.
“We’re passionate about bringing beautiful old pubs back to life and continuing their legacy in the local community.”
An official opening date will be announced in due course, with the hotel expected to welcome guests once again later this year.
