The winners of the 2020 Australian International Olive Awards have been revealed.

It’s been a positive year for local growers thanks to consistent rain in many regions, and the fruits of their labour were celebrated in a virtual presentation.

Cape Schanck Olive Estate and Flinders Island took out the Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil in Show titles for Commercial and Boutique volumes respectively.

Cape Schanck’s oil received a score of 95/100, with Flinders Island receiving a score of 91.5/100. Both producers also secured gold medals.

Wymah Organic Olives received Best Table Olive in Show for their Wymah Certified Organic kalamata olives, receiving a score of 92/100.

Best Flavoured Olive Oil of the Show was jointly awarded to Rio Vista Olives (Basil pressed) and The Olive Press NZ (pressed Gold Rosmarino Blu Toscano), with both producers scoring 94/100.

Goya En España’s Goya® “Organics” extra virgin olive oil received the award for Best EVOO Northern Hemisphere, with its Manzanilla stuffed with tuna paste olives taking out the award for the Best Table Olive Northern Hemisphere.
