The Australian Grand Dairy Awards has announced 54 finalists across 18 categories.
The Australian Grand Dairy Awards are the grand final of regional dairy awards across Australia and the highest accolade for local producers. All products qualified by winning a gold medal at state competitions.
Over two days, 400 gold medal-winning Australian products were tested by a panel of 24 judges including Russell Smith and Mark Livermore, along with technical experts, chefs, retailers and flavour specialists.
Presentation, texture, flavour and aroma were all tested to shortlist the top three in each class, crowning them the 2018 finalists.
“We are excited to announce the stellar line up of 2018 finalists,” says Amanda Menegazzo, convener of the Australian Grand Dairy Awards.
“The awards celebrate quality and excellence in delicious dairy produce, but we also want to encourage Australians to take a moment to recognise the skills and dedication of the many people who craft these products.”
The Champion announcement will be made in February, where the top product in each category will be revealed and the overall dairy and cheese Grand Champions will be crowned.
