After a three-year closure, Armadale’s Orrong Hotel has reopened to the public under new owners Matt Vero and Scott Connolly.

It’s not the first pub for the pair, with Vero behind Marquis of Lorne, Union House and Mt Erica Hotel and Connolly the owner of the Moore St Tavern and Moe.

“The Orrong Hotel is engrained in the history of the area, and we wanted to continue its presence and relevance within our community,” says Vero of the Victorian pub.

Phillip Latta has been appointed head chef after time at Pure South and Wolfe & Malone, curating a menu that lists all the pub classics.

Dishes include chicken schnitzel, an Orrong Angus beef burger, a Philly cheese steak sandwich and a Fable mushroom burger.

Steaks have their own section, with guests having the choice of rump, scotch fillet and T-bone served with a baby cos and soft herb salad and sauce.

Beverage options include beers on tap covering local ales and XPAs along with classic cocktails.

An extensive wine list showcases Australian drops including Shaw & Smith M3 Chardonnay, Red Claw Pinot Noir from the Mornington Peninsula and Dal Zotto Pucino Prosecco.

Orrong Hotel is open from 11.30am seven days a week.
