Chargrill Charlie’s and pastry chef Anna Polyviou will join forces for a second time on Thursday 4 June with the launch of a cookie dough soft serve van.

Hitting the road for one day only, The ‘Chargrill Charlie’s X Anna Polyviou Cookie Dough Van’ will follow Chargrill Charlie’s Sydney store path from the east to the north. Part of Chargrill Charlie’s ‘Local Flavours’ initiative, the duo’s first collaboration saw two tonnes of Polyviou’s cookie dough sell out within days.

Sydneysiders will be alerted to the van’s approach by the sound of special tunes. They’ll then have the opportunity to purchase limited-edition products from Polyviou herself.

Soft serves made from the pastry chef’s cookie dough, will be whipped fresh in the van with two new flavours on offer: Brownie Beats and Fairy Bread Confetti. Cookie dough tubs will also be available for purchase. Both new flavours will be on offer, with the original Triple Choc Blast back for an encore too.

The 600g cookie dough tubs can be purchased at all 14 Chargrill Charlie’s stores across Sydney and Melbourne, via the brand’s app, in store or through select delivery partners. And, for those who miss the van, Chargrill Charlie’s cookie dough thickshakes will be available at selected stores including Annandale, Dee Why, Drummoyne, Frenchs Forest, Rose Bay, St Ives and Wahroonga in Sydney, and Camberwell in Melbourne.

“While restaurants are slowly beginning to reopen, this isn’t an overnight fix for those chefs and workers in our industry,” says Chargrill Charlie’s co-owner Ryan Sher. “Our aim with ‘Local Flavours’ is to continue to support those on their road to recovery and keep our hospitality community united and strong. Polyviou is an incredible talent and we’re thrilled to partner with her to inject some fun into people’s lives during this time.”

Other collaborators have including Merivale’s Sam Young, who has teamed up with Chargrill Charlie’s three times, as well as Redfern Israeli restaurant Kepos Street Kitchen.

Chargrill Charlie’s is open to working with businesses and local chefs — reach out through the website, Instagram direct messages and on the phone to kick start a conversations.
