Trader House group has confirmed it will open a Brisbane restaurant, marking the first out-of-Melbourne venue for Andrew McConnell’s portfolio.

And it’s a familiar name for the dining public – Supernormal is slated to launch at 443 Queen Street in Brisbane in 2023 as part of a residential tower.

The venue is located on the riverfront between Eagle Street Pier and Howard Smith Wharves and will feature picturesque views alongside Supernormal’s equally as experiential cuisine.

McConnell says he wasn’t planning on spearheading another ‘major restaurant’, but the chef couldn’t pass up the unique opportunity.

“There is a special combination of relationship, location, environment and architecture at 443 Queen St that we are seriously excited to be a part of,” he says.

“For the past seven years, we’ve welcomed many interstate and international guests to Supernormal in Melbourne. Now, we look forward to contributing to Brisbane’s already growing and vibrant food scene.

“There’s also a bounty of some of the country’s best produce available. What a thrill to be able to explore this as we refine our offering. “

The 120-seat restaurant will encompass a dining room alongside alfresco seating and private dining.

Come 2023, guests can expect a focus on local seafood and Queensland produce that will feature across classic Supernormal dishes as well as new additions to the menu.

Supernormal Brisbane will open late 2023 seven days a week for lunch and dinner.
