Chef Andrew McConnell’s Trader House Restaurants group has expanded the Morning Market concept with a second location; this time in Melbourne’s Prahran.

The first Morning Market opened in Fitzroy in October last year, with the new site emulating the key pillars the business is built around.

Visitors can expect pastries and sourdoughs from Baker Bleu alongside Single O coffee, house sandwiches, salads and baked goods, fresh produce, dairy and local flowers from the store, which is located on the corner of Grandview Grove and High Street.

Morning Market offers a healthy selection of pantry staples which McConnell says are “a collection of my favourite things that I like to cook with as well as some special products and produce that can be sometimes hard to find”.

The pantry includes everything from chickpea miso to Demeter rice and soba noodles.

Meatsmith is supplying plenty of protein from steaks to lamb cutlets, schnitzels, sausages, charcuterie and pre-made meals designed to be on the table in a flash.

The venue will soon begin selling wine, beer and spirits curated by Group Sommelier Leanne Altmann.

Morning Market is open Monday to Saturday from 8am until 6pm.
