abc Cucina opens in Sydney’s Double Bay
New Italian restaurant abc Cucina has opened in the heart of Double Bay.
The venue is owned by the McDonald family who created and operated the Fratelli Fresh group prior to its sale in 2015.
“We are excited to be doing some classic dishes and also our family favourites, all prepared with our philosophy of fresh, great ingredients and Italian flavours,” said Barry McDonald.
The casual space features an open kitchen, leather banquettes and walls lined with contemporary art.
“We wanted to offer our simple Italian flavours at good value to everyone,” said McDonald.
“It’s wonderful to be back working with our incredible Italian suppliers to select the best salumi, cheese and of course produce.”
The Cucina menu includes small seasonal antipasti plates, pasta, fresh fish, a tagliata featuring Cape Grim beef, and chicken Milanese. Giant blackboards will feature specials and classic cocktails, which will change weekly.
Tiramisu, housemade gelato and torta della nonna are on offer for dessert and a concise Italian wine list has been curated by Nina McDonald.
