The Sydney Opera House is now serving fish and chips via a pop-up eatery on the northern broadwalk.
The Harbour pays homage to the former seafood restaurant that operated in the same location from the late ’80s and into the early ’90s, with checkered tablecloths and picnic tables completing the throwback experience.
“It’s wonderful that the Opera House is kicking off the new year with the opening of The Harbour restaurant – a brand new pop-up venue that offers a unique summer destination for locals and visitors alike,” said Minister for the Arts Ben Franklin MLC.
Executive Chef Lee Thompson from Trippas White Group is behind the menu, which lists fish burgers, potato scallops, seafood platters, grilled prawns and of course, the classic: fish and chips.
The Harbour will run until 3 February, with the restaurant operating Tuesday to Saturday from midday until 8pm.
Bookings are now open, with space reserved for walk-ins and a takeaway menu also available.
