The Electrolux Appetite for Excellence 2017 national finalists have been revealed.

The young chef and waiter national finalists will be taking part in an all-expenses-paid six day produce tour through regional Queensland in mid-July, where they will meet the meat and seafood producers as well as fruit and vegetables growers.

The Electrolux Appetite for Excellence judging panel includes Peter Gilmore, Luke Mangan, Christine Manfield, Mark Best, Danielle Gjestland, Peter Doyle, Ross Lusted, Nick Hildebrandt and more.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Noosa, Queensland on 14 August.

The Electrolux Australian Young Chef 2017 prize package includes: 

  • Certificate and trophy
  • Visit and spend the day with Electrolux Innovation Centre in Pordenone, Italy
  • Attend a four day culinary trip courtesy of Sanpellegrino
  • Participate in a two week stage at a world leading European restaurant of your choice
  • Return international flights courtesy of Virgin Australia
  • $3,000 to help with accommodation, travel and expenses
  • Electrolux will provide the establishment of the winner with a selection of premium domestic kitchen appliances of their choice to the value of $5,000

The Electrolux Australian Young Waiter 2017 winner prize package includes:

  • Certificate and trophy
  • Attend a four day culinary experience courtesy of Sanpellegrino
  • Return international flights courtesy of Virgin Australia
  • A two day experience with renowned Australian wine makers, including flights and accommodation
  • $3,000 cash to assist with overseas travel and work experience expenses
  • Electrolux will provide the establishment of the winner with a selection of premium domestic kitchen appliances of their choice to the value of $5,000

The Electrolux Australian Young Restaurateur 2017 prize package includes:

  • Certificate and trophy
  • Network with industry greats at Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants awards or The Worlds 50 Best Restaurant awards in 2017 as a guest of Sanpellegrino
  • Return international flights to attend the awards courtesy of Virgin Australia
  • $5,000 to invest in their business
  • Electrolux will provide winner with a selection of premium domestic kitchen appliances of their choice to the value of $5,000
