There will be 15 scholarships available to hospitality professionals looking to further their education in 2022.

The NSW Wine Industry Association has worked with the NSW Government to offer the placements in The Wine and Spirit Education Trust training programs at TAFE NSW.

“These new scholarships are a great opportunity for those key front-of-house staff that present wines to the public [to] expand their knowledge of NSW wines and those dedicated wineries that craft premium and diverse wines,” says NSW Wine President Mark Bourne.

There are 10 places in the WSET Level 2 Awards program and five spots in the WSET Level 3 Awards in Wines course.

Applications are open until 16 December 2021 to individuals working within the on- and off-premise drinks trade who can travel to the Ryde or Ultimo TAFE locations.

Those who pass the course will have the program completely funded, however failure to pass “without a suitable reason” will result in individuals having to pay the cost of the course to the NSW Wine Industry Association.
