The shortlist for the 2015 Restaurant & Bar Design Awards has been announced and 12 Australian venues have made the cut.

Now in its seventh year, this year’s competition has attracted entries from over 70 countries across the globe representing a total of 214 shortlisted venues.

The Restaurant & Bar Design Awards are the only awards in the world dedicated to the design of food and beverage spaces. Every type of restaurant and bar space are covered in the awards from revered Michelin-starred establishments to pop-ups and food trucks.

In last year’s awards, Howler in Brunswick, Victoria, won the Australia and Pacific Bar award (designed by Splinter Society Architecture) and South Australia’s Penfolds Magill Estate Restaurant (designed by Pascale Gomes-Mcnabb Design) took out the Australia and Pacific Restaurant award.

The 2015 Awards ceremony will be held in London on 1 October.
