Sydney brewery Young Henrys has announced they have entered into a brewing partnership with Tribe.

Tribe, formerly Brewpack, is an independent brewing company that provides brewing facilities to external partners as well as producing its own range of beers under labels such as Stockade Brew Co and Mornington Peninsula Brewery.

It’s been confirmed Young Henrys will expand their brewing operations into a purpose-built brewery in Goulburn, which has a capacity of 30 million litres p.a. with the potential for 70 million litres p.a.

There will be no equity or change of hands for either company, with Young Henrys remaining independently owned by founders Richard Adamson and Oscar McMahon. Young Henrys also will continue brewing from their Newtown HQ.

“We’re pumped to be brewing with Tribe in a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility that extends the capacity of our Newtown brewery to bring fresh, high-quality beers to the people,” says Adamson.

“It’s fantastic to be working with another independent company that has a similar focus on community and sustainability.”

Tribe founder Anton Szpitalak has echoed the statement, and says the company is ‘stoked’ they are able to help Young Henrys remain independent.

“A lot of brands as successful as Young Henrys simply struggle to keep up with the demands of thirsty consumers and plenty end up giving up on their independent dream for that next step up in scale,” he says. “Building our platform broad enough to be able to be that partner for passionate artisans is what Tribe is all about.”

Young Henrys was established in 2012, with the brand producing five brews, including the acclaimed Newtowner, along with gin and moonshine.
