Australian Independent Brewery Running with Thieves will open a new brewery, distillery and restaurant this year, at the former Sealanes site in South Fremantle. The historical 1400sqm facility will allow Running with Thieves to greatly increase their production capacity and expand their footprint on the West Coast.
The brewery will have capacity to produce up to 1 million litres of beer, and the distillery will produce an exclusive range of gin, vodka, rum and whiskey. All of the company’s products will be produced and packaged on-site. Directly across the road from South Beach, the new brewery, distillery and packaging line are expected to be operational by July, with the new restaurant and bar opening in time for next summer.
The front-of-house offering will include a bar, restaurant, retail outlet and will be a reflection of the modern, relaxed sophistication of Fremantle.
Once fully operational the venue will employ up to 30 local staff.
Head brewer and distiller is Paul Gasmier, a qualified brewer with 15 years industry experience, commencing his brewing career at Sail and Anchor Brewery in Fremantle, Western Australia before a stint as brewery manager for Gage Roads, Asahi Australia and local WA breweries. Gasmier’s beers are known for their clean, well-balanced and approachable style.

Running with Thieves creates is produced in-house and where possible, sourced locally. Its products are currently stocked in bars and bottle shops across five states.
