Trippas White Group (TWG) has secured another seven years on its catering service contract with Taronga Zoo.
The group first obtained the contract in 2022. During its second year of tenure, TWG launched modern Australian restaurant Me-Gal in the zoo’s Wildlife Retreat accommodation, opening the zoo and its impressive after-dark views across Sydney harbour to the public.
Central to the new partnership agreement, which will extend to 2032, is TWG’s commitment to refresh on-site outlets and create new guest dining experiences.
Taronga Conservation Society Australia’s Chief Executive Cameron Kerr AO commented on TWG’s “exciting” proposal, saying it stood out for its creativity, commitment to sustainability, and passion for exceptional guest experiences.
“We look forward to working together to create vibrant spaces that celebrate innovation and connection, keeping Taronga among the most inspiring zoo experiences in the world,” said Kerr. “Just as importantly, this partnership supports Taronga’s vision for a shared future for wildlife and people, ensuring every visit contributes to our core vision.”
Taronga Conservation Society is a not-for-profit organisation that operates Taronga Zoo in Sydney and Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo, New South Wales.
Trippas White Group CEO Kevin Zajax said together, they have the opportunity to create the best hospitality experience in a zoo or aquarium setting not just in Australia, but in the world.
“We can use that to amplify Taronga’s mission, to promote messages of conservation and to educate people about the future, not just of wildlife, but people, and our planet,” said Zajax.
TWG, with its current tagline ‘Iconic venues. Iconic moments’, runs more than 150 venues in some of Australia’s most prominent locations, including those situated in the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Tower, Taronga Zoo, Queen Victoria Building, Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, Centennial Parklands, Australian War Memorial, and National Gallery of Australia.
