Eat the future: discover Future Farm’s plant-based burger

Future Farm is on a mission to change the way the world eats meat, one burger at a time.  We are a brand that envisions a world where people choose to eat more plants, not animals. In the three years since our launch, we have disrupted the plant-based industry by bringing world-class products and a positive outlook to 30 countries and counting.

With 42% of Australians reducing meat consumption or shifting to plant-based diets it is now the time to build out the plant-based options on your menu. Health is the primary reason for meat reduction. Our product provides the perfect balance between health and flavour; high in protein, Gluten-Free, no GMO and absolutely delicious.

We were joined by Justin Narayan, winner of MasterChef 2021, who made and gave out delicious Future Farm x Truff smash burgers, coined The Ultimate Boujie Burger, in celebration of International Burger Day. To give you an idea of how you can create something delicious and completely plant-based, we have provided Justin’s recipe from our event back in May.

Ingredients

2 Future Farm Burger Patties

2 Slices of vegan cheese

2 Vegan Brioche buns

2 tsp vegan butter

4 burger pickles

¼ Iceberg lettuce

Salt and pepper

Truff burger sauce

2 tbsp vegan mayonnaise

1 tbsp Truff hot sauce

1 tsp lemon juice

pinch of salt to taste

Method

1. To make the Truff burger sauce add all your ingredients to a bowl and mix, season with a pinch of salt to taste and set aside.

2. Get a cast iron skillet on medium high heat. Slice your buns in half and butter, then toast. Then set aside

3. Add 1-2 tbsp for oil into the skillet and place your burger patties into the pan and using the back of a solid spatula lightly brushed with oil press down until patties are just under 1 cm thick, season with salt and pepper and cook for 2-3mins, then flip. Top with vegan cheese then add a splash of water and cover to allow the cheese to melt, cooking for another 2-3mins. Then remove from the pan.

4. Finely shred enough iceberg for two burgers

5. To assemble, place your cooked patty onto the bottom bun, then top with 2 slices of pickles and a mound of shredded lettuce, then on your top bun add a generous amount of your Truff burger sauce then crown your burger and enjoy!
