The restaurant industry’s bespoke delivery service Providoor has officially arrived in New South Wales.

The concept was created by Shane Delia in response to the events 2020 brought on the hospitality sector, and saw venues from his own Maha to Grossi A Casa and Supernormal jumping on board.

Sydney restaurants including Icebergs Dining Room + Bar, Golden Century, Cirrus and Ciccia Bella are part of the NSW launch, with more venues set to join shortly.

“I’m beyond thrilled to be expanding Providoor to New South Wales,” says Delia.

“Our initial plans had us launching later in the year, however with much of the state under tough lockdown restrictions, we’ve fast-tracked that.”

The service sees meals prepared by restaurant chefs and delivered to customers via cold freight. Diners then finish the meals in their own kitchens in line with instructions provided by the restaurant.

Providoor works on a 15 per cent commission model, with the cold delivery format proving to be another draw card for operators.

“Providoor is giving us a platform that will deliver our product to the
same standard as we would in our restaurants,” says Icebergs’ Maurice Terzini.

NSW meals will launch on 21 July with next-day delivery available in Sydney metro, regional NSW and Canberra for orders made before 4pm.
