S.Pellegrino has announced the return of the Young Chef Awards, with applications now open to chefs 30 years and under.

The international competition covers 12 regions and consists of four phases. Once online applications close on 30 April, 10-15 semi-finalists from each region will be selected by ALMA.

Selected semi-finalists will then move on to the regional finals, where they will cook their signature dish for a jury.

Dishes will be judged according to the three Golden Rules (technical skills, creativity and personal belief) and a regional winner will be announced. A total of 12 regional finalists will go on to compete at the grand finale in 2020 where they will cook in front of seven culinary experts.

Along with the S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2019-2020 title, the program has introduced three new awards including the Fine Dining Lovers Food for Thoughts Award, the S.Pellegrino Award for Social Responsibility and the Acqua Panna Award for Connection in Gastronomy.

“We are committed to support the international gastronomy community by nesting, discovering and promoting the next generation of culinary talent, enabling it to demonstrate their personal belief leveraging the transformative power of gastronomy,” says Stefano Marini, director of Sanpellegrino International Business Unit.

Applications are open until 30 April 2019. Click here for more information.
