Sydney has welcomed a new pasta bar to the dining landscape run by brother and sister duo Ben and Emily Calabro.
The pair are no strangers to Pyrmont, with their first venue Quick Brown Fox cafe located just a few minutes away from Rosa Pasta Bar, which was created to bring guests a slice of Italy.
“We wanted to capture the spirit of the Amalfi Coast and bring that to Pyrmont,” says Ben. “We grew up eating pasta with our family around the table, and we wanted to create a space that feels like home.”
The Calabro siblings have recruited two chefs to head up the kitchen, Daniel Grey and Kira Sherry, who have joined the team after time at The Apollo and Alberto’s Lounge.
The chefs have put together a menu of share dishes inspired by traditional Italian plates, with all pasta options priced under $30.
Launch plates include burrata with heirloom tomato salad, tarragon, and black cherry vinaigrette; gnocchi with roast pumpkin, sage, burnt butter, and hazelnut; prawn linguine; and pesto with basil and pork sausage.
The drinks program lists all the classics including a selection of spritzes covering limoncello, Aperol, and Campari as well classic cocktails and local and international wines.
Rosa is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday to Sunday from 11:30am until 9:30pm.
