Melbourne Hospitality Group, Retail Savvy Group has officially swung open the doors to their fourth venue, The Bank on Collins.

The venue is housed in the grand banking chamber and mezzanine level of the heritage-listed Bank of Australia building. Located right on the corner of Collins & Queen Street in Melbourne CBD, the venue boasts original fittings from the time that it served as the home of the Sebel Melbourne’s Hotel and Lobby bar, and The Bank of Australiasia.

The building was built in 1838 from New Zealnad Omaru stone, and features ornate metal balustrades, marble floors and vintage chandeliers, together with a 17 meter bronze bar top, 18 copper beer taps, three gold wine taps. The venue also has a private dining room capable of catering 20-24 people, a private cocktail area and second cocktail bar on the mezzanine level with ornate detailing throughout.

According to co-owner of the Group, Anna Carosa, the floor plan of Bank on Collins is versatile enough to accommodate any style of event.

“This is a spectacular building and we will bring it back to life and restore its former glory,” says Corosa.

“The Bank of Collins will bring affordable luxury to the precinct and is in keeping with what we do best. The concept will sit above our award winning Father’s Office concept in terms of style, sophistication and menu offering.”

The venue will offer $20 express lunches complete with a schooner or house drink and a $69 three-course set menu that comes complete with a cocktail.
