The final program has been confirmed for the Restaurant Leaders Summit to be held on Monday 30 July 2018 at the Park Hyatt Hotel, Melbourne.

Featuring more than 30 speakers, the Summit will cover the industry’s hottest topics including staffing, marketing, mental health and wellbeing and must-know trends for 2019.

Chris Lucas, the man behind Chin Chin, Kong and the soon-to-open Batard, will sit down with MC Alex Herbert (Bird Cow Fish) for a one-on-one about reinvention and how he keeps on top of the restaurant game.

“I’m most looking forward to meeting new people and sharing ideas,” he says.

Mental health and wellbeing is incredibly important in an industry plagued with excess, and it’s essential operators are aware of their roles and responsibilities to ensuring a positive work environment for all employees.

R U OK? ambassador and Food for Thought Founder Mal Meiers will join Morgan McGlone (Belles Hot Chicken), Melissa Leong (TV presenter and freelance journalist) and Lune Croissanterie’s Kate Reid to discuss practical measures operators can implement to their businesses.

“As an industry, we need to look into better support and training from the top-down in an effort to better equip, identify and deal with people struggling with mental health issues,” says Meiers.

Other panel topics include supercharging your alcohol sales and what millennials and old-school operators can learn from each other.

The countdown is on to secure early bird tickets for $249 + GST (restaurant trade) which are on sale until 30 June 2018. Suppliers can purchase tickets for the special rate of $499 + GST until 30 June.
