Quick Brown Fox Eatery has opened in Pyrmont, with former Fat Duck chef Tomislav Martinovic consulting on the menu.

Siblings and co-owners Ben and Emily Calabro are behind the cafe, and wanted to run a venue that offered classic dishes teamed with contemporary options.

“There’s no fancy plating, just great food, packed full of flavour and made with high-quality ingredients,” says Ben. “It’s not rocket science and we’re definitely not reinventing the wheel, just delivering what we believe is a great casual dining experience.”

Kido Kwon has been appointed head chef (Bondi Hardware) and will be in the kitchen cooking up all-day menu items including koshihikari rice congee with chilli fried egg, enoki mushrooms, maple-glazed bacon, grilled cabbage and chilli relish along with Ottoman eggs with Pioik focaccia, green chilli and dill yoghurt.

Lunch is available from 11:30am and encompasses a quinoa-fried chicken burger, roast cauliflower salad and charred winter greens with quinoa and cauliflower rice, chilli fried egg, avocado, house-pickled zucchini and relish.

Quick Brown Fox is slinging coffee by Single O, Tea Craft tea, Kombu Kombucha and Simon Says Juice. A forthcoming liquor licence will mark the introduction of classic cocktails and an Australian wine list.

The cafe is open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch.
