Melbourne based hospitality company, Peter Rowland, will expand nationally across Australia, with its Sydney business set to officially launch in April.

The announcement comes following the company’s acquisition of a Sydney-based caterer and the launch of The Market Kitchen organic café in the Sydney suburb of Double Bay, which is a collaboration between Peter Rowland and Woolworths. Peter Rowland is one of the country’s longest running hospitality businesses.

“We are excited to announce our plan to launch the iconic Peter Rowland brand in capital cities across Australia,” says Peter Rowland CEO Emma Yee. “The national roll-out will commence in Sydney where we have held a number of commercial contracts since 2013. Now, the acquisition of a Sydney-based catering company enables us to solidify our business in Sydney with a fully functional commercial kitchen and a set-to-go workforce. We are on deadline to commence servicing Sydney-based businesses and private clients from April.”

Peter Rowland Chairman Peter Rowland, who built the business from the ground up is proud to see the brand launch across Australia under Yee’s leadership. “We are very pleased that we will be able to be a major employer nationally and have the opportunity to deliver some of the country’s best events,” says Rowland.

Founded in 1962, the company employs more than 2,000 people, servicing behind the scenes for events and functions in Victoria, including The Melbourne Cup Carnival, World’s Longest Lunch and Rippon Lea Estate. In 2017 investment firm Capital Alliance, which has interests in property, hospitality and tech became a capital partner to the business.

“Melbourne has a dynamic food landscape and hosts some of the country’s most amazing events and for 57 years Peter Rowland has played a compelling and active role in driving this innovation,” says Mohan Du, investor and founder/CEO Capital Alliance. “The launch in Sydney is significant to the new strategic direction under the leadership of our Chief Executive, Emma Yee.”
