Palmer Hospitality has appointed Hugo Burton as chief executive officer. The group is behind iconic South Australian venues such as open flame restaurant Arkhe, McLaren Vale Hotel, 2KW, AGSA_Eat at the Art Gallery of South Australia, and Paloma Bar and Pantry.
Burton joins Managing Director Martin Palmer, CFO Leah Foster, and Group General Manager Tony Symonds on the leadership team.
“I am very excited to be joining Palmer Hospitality Group – it is a great, family owned, South Australian business with some truly iconic venues,” says Burton.
“I am looking forward to working with Marty Palmer and the leadership team as we take the next step on the journey together.”
Burton brings more than two decades of experience to the role, spanning hospitality, private equity, and finance. He previously held senior leadership positions including CFO and deputy GMO at GM Hotels.
In a statement released by Palmer Hospitality, the group described Burton as “an agile and people-focused leader who brings discipline, commercial savvy, and a deep understanding of what it takes to grow sustainable, high-performing businesses in competitive markets”.
Managing Director Martin Palmer founded the family-owned company in 1991, when he acquired his first hotel. He has since developed the company to have over 500 team members.
