The Speakeasy Group (Eau de Vie, Mjolner, Boilermaker House) has confirmed it’s latest venue, Nick and Nora’s, will open in Parramatta early next month.

Inspired by fictional characters Nick and Nora Charles from Dashiell Hammett’s novel The Thin Man, the venue will champion cocktails, Champagne, Cognac and caviar.

Located on the 26th floor of new V by Crown development, Nick and Nora’s brings a new rooftop bar experience to Parramatta with capacity for 300, including space for 100 guests on the terrace.

Nick and Nora’s is the sixth venue for The Speakeasy Group’s Sven Almenning and Greg Sanderson.

“We’re aiming for a fun and upbeat environment designed for celebrations and catching up with good friends over a glass or bottle of fine champagne and cocktails,” says Sanderson.

“Picture a private party at an awesome New York penthouse with art deco flourishes, complete with numerous champagne towers, trays brimming with Martinis and crowds of well-dressed
people dancing to upbeat and eclectic funk as the sun sets in the distance.”

The venue’s 11-metre-long back bar will be home to 900 spirits, while the wine list will feature more than 50 champagnes, including exclusive and rare vintages and varietals.

The cocktail menu will feature champagne cocktails and martinis, all made with The Speakeasy Group’s signature flair.

“The menu itself will be a little shorter consisting of 30 cocktails and three punches for groups,” says Almenning. “We’re also rolling with a serious liquid nitrogen tap set-up with a total of five liquid nitrogen stations in the bar. It’s gonna be fun.”

The food menu is designed to pair with champagne, and will feature caviar, Australian oysters as well as cured meat and cheeses.
