Champagne and cocktail bar Nick and Nora’s will join the roll call of venues at at QICGRE’s 80 Collins development in Melbourne.
Award-winning hospitality company The Speakeasy Group (Eau de Vie, Mjølner, Boilermaker House) aims host soirees hearkening back to the era of post-prohibition America. With a nod to the eponymous fictional crime fighting duo of the 1930’s, Nick and Nora’s will embody the decadent spirit of the era.
A five-metre-long climate-controlled display will hold a collection of Champagne, with over 400 bottles from the region, including rare and hard to find vintages and formats.
The bar menu is divided into lists from Femme Fatale for martinis to Hollywood Starlet for Champagne cocktails and The Snitch for sours. A canape-style snack menu will be on offer focusing on premium oysters, caviar, artisanal cheese and charcuterie.
“We pride ourselves on pushing boundaries to create world-class, memorable and exciting drinking and dining experiences,” says Sven Almenning, co-owner of The Speakeasy Group. “Nick and Nora’s brand combined with the 80 Collins Street address will do exactly that.”
The art deco styled venue includes three separate balconies and five distinct event spaces (two with private balcony access).
“Nick and Nora’s champagne and cocktail bar is a seamless addition to the existing community of establishments at 80 Collins,” says Daryl Stubbings, director, Australian Investment Manager, QICGRE. “The precinct is a multi-dimensional experience- led development animated day and night. Nick and Nora brings an exciting new energy to night-time Melbourne and will sit comfortably in this world class address.”
Nick & Nora’s will join venues including the recently announced Farmer’s Daughters, by chef Alejandro Saravia, and Chris Lucas’ venture with Martin Benn and Vicki Wild.
80 Collins redefines the boundaries between work, retail and hospitality. QICGRE have created an offering that reflects culture and commerce that Melbourne’s east has become known for. 80 Collins is scheduled for completion in 2020.
